Math Scavenger Hunt

Writer: Erica FrosstErica Frosst

For parents and caregivers of young learners, it can be intimidating to figure out how to integrate fun, age-level math into home learning. Primary Playground has these incredible math scavenger hunts that you and your child can do together in your own home or backyard. There are a number of different ones to choose from, from simple counting activities (“Find 4 pinecones”) to more complex operations (“Find 2 pencils and 1 blue crayon. How many items do you have now?”). Not only do these help children with their number sense in a concrete, hands-on way, they are a great way to practice key cognitive skills like reasoning, spatial relations, and and collecting information. If this is a hit in your household, there are a bunch of other scavenger hunts to try; the Spring version would be perfect for the April weather!
