Happy Hands

Our website is designed to be a resource for parents, caregivers, and educators of preschool and kindergarten aged children (approximately aged 2.5-6). This toolkit can be used as a compilation of hands-on learning activities that can be easily implemented in both a school or home environment. The activities are categorized into the five key domains of early learning: social, emotional, communication, cognitive, and physical.

The activities that we chose to highlight can be adapted to a number of home environments and primarily use common household materials. They can be as simple or as involved as you decide to make them, and can be used as a jumping-off point for further exploration. Most importantly, these activities are meant to be fun and educational, and allow your child to be in charge of their own learning.

For more information about the implementation of early childhood learning, please visit the Ontario Ministry of Education’s website, or take a look at the document “Early Learning for Every Child Today: A framework for Ontario early childhood settings”.
We update our website every couple weeks to add fun new activity ideas. We love hearing your ideas and thoughts; feel free to reach out to us if you have any suggestions or questions.
