Cereal Colour Sorting

Writer: Erica FrosstErica Frosst

If you have some stale coloured cereal hanging around (think Froot Loops), I Can Teach My Child suggests a great option for younger learners to practice sorting their colour. The printable mat is easy to use and gives a quick option to keep the kids busy for a while. You could also adapt this activity for other cereals or small objects; for example, create a large circle and square on a piece of paper, and have your child sort Cheerios and Shreddies into the appropriate shape. For older kids or those who want more of a challenge, use a timer to see how quickly they can sort the objects.
